The Florida District encompasses most of the fleets in the state of Florida.Active fleets include Sarasota Sailing Squadron in Sarasota, Coconut Grove Sailing Center in Miami, Rudder Club of Jacksonville, Lake Eustis Sailing Club in Eustis, Davis Island Yacht in Tampa and Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club in Port Charlotte. With developing fleets in Merritt Island, Orlando and Key Largo.

Florida has an active open circuit consisting of one regatta a month from October through May. Race Schedules are posted on FSSA and Facebook. You can follow the Florida District at

The following date changes and additions are being made to the Florida District Series. Upper Keys sailing Club event is moving to the weekend of May 20-21, 2023. This change takes away any conflicts with Mother's Day and may ease availabilty associated with accomodations. Space Coast Regatta is moving to the weekend following its scheduled date, now to be scheduled for April 22-23, 2023. Note: This is how far ahead the winners were in this race - this is a photo from their boat! There were 21 boats registered and 17 boats ont he line for the final leg of the 2022 Florida District Series at the Upper Key Sailing Club in Key Largo.  There were 3 racs on Saturday with some unexpected wind, but none on Sunday so Saturdays results stand.  Top 3 places went to Jim and Sheryl Signor, Dave Rosen and crew, Mark and Michelle Taylor. The Winner of the 2022 Allen Douglas Sportsmanship Award is Jim "the tractor guy” Serpa. Jim was a participant in the Midwinters but took the time to make sure boats got in and out of the water for the first few days of the event.
