Midwest

The Midwest District encompasses fleets in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our active fleets are at Wilmette Harbor, Lake Carlyle, and Clinton Lake in Illinois, Lake Freeman in Indiana, Lake McBride in Iowa, Medicine Lake in Minnesota, and Ephraim, Madison, Neenah, Delevan Lake in Wisconsin and Capital City in Missouri.

Our District Governor is Jim Crabtree. The Midwest District is also home to FSSA Past President Bill Vogler.

The Flying Scot Fleet of the Year Award is usually presented at the Annual Meeting during the North American Championships. Well, with this unusual year, due to COVID-19, the NAC was postponed to 2021, and the Annual Meeting being via Zoom conference, where the award was announced, but no one from that fleet was on the call. There are 3 races in the books at the 2020 Wife-Husband at Carlyle Sailing Association in Illinois. There are 27 boats registered, with 20 in the Championship Division and 7 in the Challenger Division. With some chilly temps, it seems like there was plenty of wind with some gusts as well, After Day 1, The top 3 in the Championship Division are Mark and Michele Taylor from Clinton Lake, Robert and Nina Cummings from Corinthian in Dallas and Tom and Melissa Miller, also from Corinthian.   The 2020 Wife-Husband Championship is ON at Lake Carlyle in Illinois on October 2-4, 2020. It's a beautiful venue with some really great people and lots of space to spread out.
