New York Lakes
The New York Lakes Districts were held at Skaneateles Sailing Club in New York on 7/27 =7/28. 2019. The weather cooperated and the racing was competitive. First, Second and third place winners are pictured above along with a cake that looks too good to eat!. Full results are here.
Another wonderful Saratoga Flying Scot Invitational is in the books. We had two great days of racing and loads of fun visiting with old friends and new friends. We had beautiful weather in the high 70's and mostly light air both days. But we had enough wind to get in 4 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday (one less race for the Challengers), with a mixture of Windward-Leeward and Triangle courses, keeping the divisions on different courses in each race. The weather predictions for the weekend were for intermittent thunderstorms so the Race Committee had its hands full trying to get in races for the Saratoga Lake 30th Annual Invitational Regatta which was also the NY Lakes Districts. There were 25 boats registered, 14 Championship and 11 Challenger, with 13 teams vying for the District Championship Friday night was a fun welcome party and we tried to ignore the storms - some brave folks still slept in their tents on the lawn!... As we do each year, Greg and I trekked our way for the 20th time to Saratoga, NY, for the 29th Annual Flying Scot Invitational. We joined fellow Massapoag Yacht Club sailors John and Connie Eckart, who were traveling to this regatta for the 1st time. The Saratoga Lake 28th Annual Flying Scot Regatta in Saratoga, NY, fielded 26 boats, 17 in the Championship Division and 9 in the Challenger, We started out Saturday 8/9/2014 with little wind on the lake, so we visited with old friends and made some new friends as we waited for the wind to fill in.
