Flying Scot Fleet 83 at Carlyle, Illinois hosted it's Egyptian Cup on Labor Day weekend at Carlyle lake in Southern Illinois.  The Cup is over 50 years old having originated at Crab Orchard Lake in Carbondale, Illinois as a multi fleet regatta.  For the last 20 years it has been a Flying Scot Regatta at Carlyle. The Greater New York District Championship was held on Saturday Aug 24th at the the Westhampton Yacht Squadron in Remsenburg , Long Island. A fleet of 21 boats from Conn, NJ, and Long Island enjoyed a brisk SE wind at 10 to 15 knots.  Three races were held on windward/ leeward courses. The EYC’s annual Women's Regatta was sailed in Flying Scots on the evening of Tuesday, July 30, 2013

The winning team was Nancy Claypool, Annika Pearson and Carrie Berger with four straight bullets for 4 points.

Second was Ally Dykman, Erica Heidler and Suzy Dykman, who prevailed in a tiebreaker with 12 points.

Third was Delaney Dykman, Gretchen Pearson and Sydney Richter, also with 12 points.

A wide range of Flying Scot build dates were evident by observing the competitors sail numbers where numbers ranged from #25 to #5472.  A total of eleven Flying Scots from Richland Washington Fleet 186 and Seattle Washington Fleet 100 competed in the two day event sailed off shore of Fort Warden State Park on the Puget Sound.  This location continues to be popular with past and present fleet members.

Fishing Bay Yacht Club in Deltaville, VA, posted their 74th Annual One Design Regatta on August 10-11, 2013, with Optis, Lasers, Albacore, Front Runner, San Juan, Typhoon and Flying Scots.  Saturday everyone got in 2 races, but Sunday, only the Optimists were able to race - just not enough wind.
