Mooring a flying scot

I keep boat 831 on a mooring on a bay in Lake Michigan. Last year we had a multi day storm which resulted in the jib tack cable and forestay extension parting after rubbing on the bow plate. What does any one else do to secure the rig while at a mooring? The rig is really loose after i replaced these cables. Bob Wyatt

If you have a loose rig, attach the jib halyard to the jib tack

If you have a loose rig, attach the jib halyard to the jib tack shackle and snug them up before you leave the boat on the mooring. That should keep the mast from slopping around so much. Phil Scheetz FS 4086
