The iPhone touch screen works well thru a clear waterproof plastic bag like a ziplock. I use an iPad 3G with the iNavx app in a big ziplock as a handheld GPS chart plotter when racing & coastal cruising sailboats as well as piloting my ship. It's an amazing gadget. http://www.inavx.com/
