Dates set for 2011 Charlotte Harbor Regatta

The board of directors of the Charlotte Harbor Regatta has set Feb. 3-6, 2011 as the dates for the 2011 Charlotte Harbor Regatta. After a super turnout of Flying Scots in the inaugural regatta, including famed FS builder Harry Carpenter and Florida district president Dave Thinel, the board of directors is planning for an even bigger showing from Flying Scots from all over Florida and additional teams from the Northeast. Glowing reviews have been received about the facilities and hospitality at the Flying Scots' regatta host site, Charlotte Harbor Yacht Club. The board is eagerly anticipating a class announcement regarding the addition of the Charlotte Harbor Regatta to the Florida district points calendar. The racing schedule is still to be determined, and the regatta will work with the class to finalize those plans. The Charlotte Harbor Regatta will kick off again with a Thursday reception at the CHYC, with some classes racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and other classes joining the action on Saturday and Sunday.
