Schurr sails review

[?]Anyone use Schurr sails? The price looks inexpensive/reasonable but want to make sure of the quality. We are lake sailors, dont race but like to go faster than the other Scots and great sailors. Boat is a 74 Douglas and has the original sails. We are thinking the Day Sailor sails for cost reasons. Since we really will not be racing... Anyone use Intensity sails? For ethestics I dont like the black swashes and prefer a full white sail. Looks cheap with the color. Thanks. [^] Aloha- Rex

I am also wondering about the quality of the Intensity sails. At $600 total for a main and a jib the price seems almost too good to be true. Reading the description the colored swashes were put there for a specific fleet's racing program and "Our sails will ship without the color panels in the images" indicates that they would be all white.

I have Schurr sails on my boat. Absolutely no complaints about the quality. They look like they were put together well. They are 15 years old but the first owner barely used the boat so they have only been out ~20 times. I wouldn't even hesitate to try a race with them. FS 4964

I have been very pleased with Schurr sails for daysailing about 350 times since 2004. Also pleased with the work done by Sailcare in 2007(minor changes/repairs, cleaning, resizing). Monroe Lake Norman, NC

My boat came with Schurr's and they sailed fine for daysailing after 20 years. A friend in our fleet has a new boat with Schurr sails and he goes as fast as the rest of us. Most other fleet boats have North. New sails are fast, whether they are North, Gus, Schurr, Quantum, etc. All these are active in the class and make good sails. I have never seen the intensity sails.
