Removing non skid tape

I am brand new to this site and would appreciate some recommendations as to the proper way to remove non skid tape. I am restoring FS #3936 and don't wnat to damage the decking. Thanks Wade

I used a hair dryer to warm them up and then a soft plastic putt

I used a hair dryer to warm them up and then a soft plastic putty knife to scrape them off. Mine were really disintegrated and had lichens growing in them. A metal putty knife seems like it would trash the gelcoat. I then used acetone to get off the remaining glue. It seems that if the strips were in better shape they would have peeled off with just warming them up. The trickiest part is getting the new ones on straight. Have fun. Phil Scheetz FS 4086
