'08 Wife-Husband at OCBC

This year in June, the FS Wife-Husband National regatta is being hosted by Oklahoma City Boat Club. June weather in Oklahoma is just delightful for sailing, usually with temps in the mid 80's and winds around 10 mph. My wife Greta and I have sailed many times at OCBC, which is a dream facility for one design racing. OCBC's Lake Hefner is a round, restricted use resevoir lake with almost no obstructions giving good winds, and very few power boats. The club has several hoists and ramps, located around the perimeter of their harbor so to not create congestion for sailings wishing to haul out. The people of OCBC offer the best in personal hospitality to guest sailors and ideal location. OCBC's well practiced race committee has hosted many national events including the J22 NAC, Adams Cup, and our Flying Scot Southwest District Championship Regatta. If you're flying in to Oklahoma City (OKC) or driving, please plan on a good time and good racing. Hope to see you there! Flying or driving via Dallas? The drive from Dallas to OCBC is three to three and a half hours depending on traffic and construction. Weather in June tends to be good for sailing and flying, so if you are connecting through Dallas' DFW airport, connections tend to stay on schedule. I'm excited for this regatta.

I'm excited for this regatta. Our last W-H Regatta was 4 years ago and we really enjoyed it. Mostly due to distance we can't attend more. With about 600 miles it's pretty close to us this year. Thanks. BTW, we'll be staying at the Comfort Inn (Founders Tower) in case anyone wants to join us.
