March 23-27...save the date! The NOR is completed and sent off to be published soon in Scots n'Waters. Watch this web site for its posting as well. Here is a heads up. Bob New, Greg Fisher, Brian Hayes and other notables are conducting a "Top Gun School" for all attendees. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from the best. Each day will have something special in store for you. Racing is Monday through Thursday with 10 races scheduled (2-3-3-2). You wanted more raciing! SPYC will have their usual top draw race committee on hand. The week has been moved to later in the month when the weather is normally more stable. Watch for more from Bob New and his cast! Bill overstates my role in the Top Gun School. I am just the logistics coodinator and head gopher. Greg Fisher and a host of Scot Top Guns that may include winners such as the Lintons, the Eagans, and others will share their knowledge of boat set-up, crew work and speed secrets up and down wind. Greg will be on the water with video camera during races for feed-back sessions. This clinic alone could be worth the price of admission... Come on down , up or over to 2008 Mid Winters at St. Pete. I'm hoping to come down from Virginia for the Midwinters with my family. Has there been any arrangements made for accomodations, group hotel rates, a block of rooms somewhere. Is there camping at or near the event site? [8D] Bruce FS2777

Bruce, I will already have my gear down there so I am not sure when they are leaving, but I will forward it on. As we get closer to Spring check out the www.fbyc.net web site for the spring series dates. They are good fun and we will get 15 or so boats a day. They are open to all people to sail. We also work on getting you some room to drop your boat for a couple of weeks if you wanted. But its free and open to all. Travis 5341

There's a great county park and campground right on the Gulf about 15 minutes away called Fort DeSoto. There's even a marina within the campground that you can use to practice from before the actual midwinters begin. Here's a link to the park: Fort Desoto

For any of you that are looking for a nice Bed and Breakfast type accomodations, the Offshore Sailing School uses a place called the Mansion House Bed and Breakfast for thier students. It's within a stone's throw from the club. I have not personally stayed here, but relatives that have stayed there have really enjoyed it.
