New to sailing

Hi everyone, I am a new to sailing and would like to learn so I can have a family sport I can enjoy with my wife and 4 kids. I willingly purchased a soft hulled FS and am in the middle of restoring it. My question: Are there any FS owners in the 495(Franklin/Milford)area of Massachuetts that would be willing to take me out for a sail sometime? I live close to Rhode Island and can easily drive to the Cape. I appreciate any help! George

In my opinion, an excellent teaching resource is a learn-to-sail book by the Red Cross titled START SAILING RIGHT!.I found it to be one of the most well-written books I have read in my sailing education. Topics range from exercise and nutrition to knots and lines.There are many diagrams that give clear example to the text. I purchased a used copy at Alibris.com for $3.50 plus shipping.

Thanks, i have some other books I have been reading but I am always open to learn more. I'm hoping I can find someone to take me sailing so I could get a first hand look at how to operate a FS, though I know it will take more than that to become proficient,
