Motor Mount

The electric motor I have does not mount tight to the standard FS mount. Does anyone have suggestions for making the motor tighter to the mount? FS2450

I have a Minkota electric motor .........I had to cut the plastic knobs off the tightening bolts to make room for them

How did you tighten then? With a socket wrench?

Are you talking about the wood block that slides into the bracket that you attach the motor to? If so, what I use to do was attach the motor securely to the block and then treat the engine/wooden block as a unit. It is much easier to secure the wooden block to the transom bracket. So, for example, when I wanted to remove the motor from the transom, I would remove the wooden block (with engine attached) and store it away. Once the engine was attached to the block, I never detached it.

After removing the plastic extensions on the tightening bolts I was able to tighten them with a standard adjustable wrench

My motor mount is the standard mount from FS.

My motor mount is the standard mount from FS. It has no wood block as described. It is metal. I will give the wrench idea a try. I wonder also if some non-skid where the braced attach would help tighten the hold.

I'm wondering if you have everything for the motor mount.

I'm wondering if you have everything for the motor mount. My mount from FS is in two parts. There is the metal bracket attached to the boat, then the metal and wood mount that slides into the bracket.

I checked the FS website. I cannot see where they sell the pad only. Thanks for your help- I think I'll email them and see. FS2450
