First Sail

Hi Folks, Just had my first sail on my newly acquired #820....It is the first time I have sailed on a Scot in 40 yrs.....my Dad had #169 back in the late 50's......what a blast!....almost got her up on a plane....just wasn't blowing hard enough........I would like to set up for a "snug rig " set up.........I had the toggle flat across and the rig seemed to be fairly tight with no obvious play in the rig.....I would like to upgrade the sails and go for a snug set up.....any advice on mast rake and other parameters.........Thanks ...Steve Ungberg

The best thing to do is check out the sail providers listed on this page: http://www.fssa.com/ht/shop/shop-equipment.htm Some of them have snug rig jibs (that's the sail which is cut differently, depending on loose, snug, tight) If you don't find information on their web sites, contact them for sure. You will exactly what you need on one or more of the web sites, however. Gus and North make snug rig jibs. Not sure about the other sail lofts. FSSA Forum editor
