more camping info requested for St. Pete

What about the warm up regatta at Davis Island. Camping there the weekend before the Mids? Then should we sail the boats over to St. Pete Y.C. or do we have to break them down and rig up again.? Thank the powers that we are not going back to Panama City.! Rotation of the Mid winters is the only right way to do it. Graham Hall Irish Rover 4945

Update 1/12/05 Camping allowed for DIYC race - see below DIYC to SPYC is about 15 miles by water and is pretty straight forward navigation. The area is well marked since it is a majer ship channel, industrial and cruise ships. By car it is about a 30 minute (non rush hour)drive. I think most locals will trailer over to SPYC and launch there, both clubs have ramps and hoists so no real preference. I would not want to leave my boat in the water all week due to bottom growth. The DIYC warm up regatta is Saturday/Sunday March 5th and 6th and is the 6th in the Florida Scot season series. It is being held in conjunction with the Fireball mid winters. Regatta info, Notice of Race and entry form can be viewed by going to; http://www.diyc.org/contentdetail.asp?ContentID=320 We usually average around 20 to 25 Scots but should have more since the Mids are that week. This club puts on many large major regattas and does a good job. During daylight savings time (April through October) they do a Thursday night series which averages around 75 boats every week. Should be a great week!
