Anyone interested in these boats may wish to inquire why NYS sales tax is being charged on the boat portion. These are not technically new boats, the only sales tax that should be due would be on the value of the trailer because it needs to be registered. The boat should only need sales tax applied if it were to be registered. Sailboats in NYS do not be registered unless a motor was added.

But out of state buyers shouldn't be taxed anything, right? F

Hi Graham, hope you are feeling OK. Could you add some info about these particular Scots? I think they were originally used in the College Sloop champs. Why is SUNY unloading them?

Boat sold for $12350. Funny thing...boat pictured on ebay (5010) is selling on the FSSA site for $6900.

Well it's not 5010 that was sold. The e-bay description said the boat was build in 2004. I have sail number 5074 and it wasn't build in 2004.
