The 2006 New England District Regatta was hosted by Fleet 57 at the Stone Horse Yacht Club in Harwichport, MA, on Saturday, August 5.  There were 20 boats from New England fleets as well as outside New England.  Before the racing, District Governor Randy Williams called for nominations for the new District Governor.  Diane Kampf was the only person nominated and the voting took place both at the regatta and through e-mail before the event.  Diane was voted in as the New England District Governor.

The weather was very cooperative.  The sun was out and so was the wind, but not too much wind.  There were 5 races held and we were back on shore before we knew it.  The regatta was followed by a lovely social at a home next to the yacht Club

Chris and Linda Danilek, who traveled from Canada, won the regatta in a very close race

Roger Sharp and Stacey Rieu came in second and were awarded the District Championship and SMYRA trophies by the new District Governor

David Ryan and Same Koval came in third.

We want to thank Chuck Winans and Ned Steiger for hosting a very nice event, and hope to see some of the folks at the Masapaog Regatta on September 9-10.
