On February 6, 1998, at Sail Expo in Atlantic City, the Flying Scot became one of fourteen sailboats to be included into the American Sailboat Hall of Fame. The Scot was the first centerboard dinghy inducted and joins a distinguished group of designs (see list below). Flying Scot, Inc. President, Harry Carpenter, accepted the award along with long time Scot builders, Eric and Mary Ammann.
