2013 Midwinters at Sarasota Day 1 - Race 1 & 2

After a weather postponement earlier in the day, we went out in 15-17 knot winds and finished the first 2 races of the regatta today. One general recall got everyone in line and we only heard starting horns after that!  Everyone stayed upright, but one collision caused a dismasting. There were several other collisions as well with less damage resulting from those. Despite that it was overall a great day on the water after the bad weather earlier in the day.  Super job of race management by the Race Committee.  Results to date are here

2013 Midwinters are on - boats are arriving!

The Midwinters in sunny Sarasota, Florida is on now with boats arriving through tomorrow.  We have 50+ boats registered and there is still room for you!  Note that the schedule is updated and  there has been a change to the NOR.  You  may be interested in taking a look, so you can view the updated information here.  Hope to see you in Sarasota!!

Flying Scot ® Foundation News

The Flying Scot® Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of a Sail Donation Program. Gently used Flying Scot sails can be donated to the Foundation and will be refurbished and sent to sail training programs that use Flying Scot® sailboats to teach adult students.

Welcome to your new FSSA.COM website!

The Flying Scot Sailing Association website has gotten an upgrade.  The site has been using a web-based Content Management System for about a year.  The goals of the website redesign have been to make it easier to maintain, and easier to share news with our Flying Scot friends.  The new look reflects Scots n Water, our class magazine.
