Monmouth Boat Club held their 27th Full Moon Regatta the weekend of June 17th.  The sailing club dates back to 1879—deep history for a small club on the Navesink River in Red Bank NJ.  The Flying Scot is the premiere sailboat for our club with 34 boats on premises.

The Regatta is always challenging with full on competition battling against each other and the river with tidal currents and varying wind conditions.  On Saturday, twenty boats hit the starting line with 11 boats in the A Fleet and another 9 in the B Fleet.  The "Little" choices off the starting very quickly determined the outcome of the race---  Right or Left resulted in the Thrill of Victory or the Agony of  Defeat in a light wind.  The Navesink gave us only one race before the wind died and the fleet retreated to the Club.  But in the end, it was a beautiful sunny day hanging with a great group of sailors while we waited for a second race that never materialized.  Dan Vought/Ted Duffy from MBC won the A Fleet while Dave Irving from Candlewood YC won the B Fleet.  See the full regatta results here.
